And the antidote?

Why, creating, naturally. What do you think of this birthday card I made for my friend? Very excited to be using my new purchase distress inks! The butterflies came from some old wrapping paper I've been hanging onto for about 8 years for just this little project! Feel so much better now... apart from all the mess I've left scattered around the house.
PS: Wrecking journal still not arrived yet... anticipation builds...

  1. I know the feeling of being out of the loop. Sorry to hear your copy of Wreck hasn't arrived. But I'm sure you'll be able to catch up quickly. I'm not sure there's really enough to carry through to the end of July. Everyone seems to have started a little reticently but I imagine it will be full blown wrecking from page to page very soon. Keep with us, though.

I love the effect you've done with your distress inks. I have a few but haven't really gotten the "hang" of the full effect. Can you describe briefly what you've done here? I'm curious because I tend to use mine too much like regular ink and I know they are capable of so much more.

  2. I got my top distressing tips from this helpful chap (http://www.timholtz.com/demos.html). I just blobbed some different inks on a board, sprayed on a little water then placed the card over the ink and peeled back with great excitement waiting to see the finished result (it brings out the inner child)! Then I added a bit more colour with a sponge and if it looked a bit too intense, I sprayed more water. It was great fun and very therapeutic!
Looking forward to seeing more of your wrecking!!

  3. Thanks for that, my next creative time I will have to go and see Mr. Holtz and have a look-see.
